I'm back! Work has continued to blow up and cause stress but that's why they call it work, right? My stepmom started making homemade jam a couple years ago. I had never had jam from scratch before and, let me tell ya, there's no comparison. Once you've had the real stuff, there's no turning back. So, after a year of swiping my stepmom's goods, I decided it would be fun to learn how to make...
It has been a hectic, stressful and agonizing week at work. Needless to say, I haven't felt much like blogging. But I'll leave you with a preview for my next planned post. Don't these Strawberries look delish? These babies were straight from Portland Farmers Market, down at Pionner Sqaure. Happy Friday! ...

It's Friday again! How did this week go by so quickly? I'm mentally drained, so I need a couple days to recharge. Weekend plans include a Father's Day extravaganza with my grandparents, aunt and uncle and cousins. And maybe great grandpa if he's up for the adventure. What are you up to? Here's hoping for sun!1. The last movie I saw was Just Go With It. It was super cheesey, and I couldn't stand the little...
I ran across this idea in one of my magazines (forget which one now) and I thought it was so genius. If you're like me and often cook while reading a recipe off your computer, you know those food splatters are dangerous. Solution? Lay cling wrap over your keyboard to protect it from food droppings. Genius? I thought so. Already know about this trick? Well, good for you. ...
I've already admitted to being addicted to coffee, and I can't wait for the weather to turn warmer so I can enjoy it cold for a change. I'm not good at making my own iced coffee, so I usually grab at Starbucks, so I was excited to run across this recipe from The Pioneer Woman. It looks like A LOT of work, but work well worth it. I'll have to give it a go. Mouth. Watering....
Hello, weekend! I'm looking out the window right now and the weather is gloomy and dark but I'm crossing fingers that changes for the weekend. I have my first fly fishing lesson tomorrow, and then I'm going to go through more of my stuff in prep for my move soon. I also need to look at my calendar (and wallet) and figure out what I want to do this summer. Lots to look forward to! In...
I finally decided to upload the latest pics on my camera, and off my phone, so thought I would share a few. To my horror, I look pretty gross, but I'll get over it. This is what lounging at the beach looks like...in Oregon. Aunt enjoying the PNW Now THIS is some seafood. Gobble gobble. Tillamook Cheese Factory. What a riot that place was. Couldn't get away from the cows : D Dropping off Aunt...
Ladies, I'm here to tell you that the one piece swimsuit is back. Seriously. If you flip through all the spring and summer fashion magazines you'll see pages of these in a myriad of colors and styles. And I love them. Here in Oregon, we don't break out the swimwear too often. I think I've had the same two bikinis for 6 years. Point made. As someone who has light scars on my back from a...

Yes, I am well aware I have nearly abandoned my blog for the past week or so. I had family in town for the holiday weekend, and then I had to catch up on work. Blah blah..excuses. I have lots of photos to upload, which I pinky swear to do tonight. But in the meantine... I got my beautiful new apartment in NW! Which means I move in 6 weeks. Gulp. And get to decorate....
It has been a rough week and all, with the two-day work week I put in after my 6 day weekend. So thankful for paid time off! Seriously though, it's supposed to be in the lower 80s this weekend and I couldn't be happier. I'll be bar hopping tonight, and then the rest of my weekend is wide open. What are you up to? 1. I love coffee because I'm addicted to it and it's like my drug....
