a friday food fest and some blanks
Happy Friday, all! This was definitely one of those weeks. Work was a nut house yesterday and I *may* have lost my cool at one point. I try very hard to be calm under pressure but sometimes I just need to walk away for a few minutes. You know? You know.
Tonight I am attending a dinner at Yakuza Lounge, hosted by General Motors. They are doing a mini media tour with some of the designers of the new Spark line. I am excited because I have always wanted to try this spot for dinner. The food looks AH-MAZING. Secondly, because how cool will it be to pick the brains of those who actually design the vehicles we drive every day?
I also found out that Salt & Straw is less than a mile away from Yakuza. As a native Portlander, I am ashamed to admit that I have never gone. So…I’ll be remedying this tonight. Because I can.
Long story short, tonight I will be in food heaven. I’ll report back.
Have a happy weekend, all! Now let’s play some blanks along with Lauren.
My first memory is when I received a gigantic polar bear stuffed animal as a gift. I was very young at the time and it scared me to pieces. I have a terrible memory in general but this instance sticks out.
My first love was some dude in college. Looking back, I was terribly naïve back then. I have much higher standards now and, at the same time, more realistic expectations. Oh, college relationships…I don’t miss you.
My very first favorite color was purple. My birthstone is an amethyst, which is probably where this love for purple started. Definitely not my favorite color anymore.
The first time I really felt like a "grown-up" was when I bought my first new car. All of a sudden I was allowed to just go and buy my own car? Like, the bank trusted me to make my payments? That was both an exhilarating and scary moment for me.
The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is hit the snooze button about 3 times. Then I stumble into the kitchen to make coffee, check my email (I know) and then get ready. It’s all very exciting.
The first CD (cassette tape, record, etc...) I ever bought was the cassette tape of TLC. The first CD was Savage Garden. What happened to those guys, anyways?
My first car was a red 1992 Ford Escort. That car was adorable and sporty and got a lot of mileage. I was also driving my friends around in high-school. I had the car until my senior year of college, so I had some good years. It eventually became too unsafe to drive and the repairs were more than the car was worth.
